network rail

A RIBA competition 'Reimagining Railway Stations' was looking to identify alternate approaches in the design and construction of small to medium sized railway stations across the UK.

Our proposal was an opportunity to create a functional environment that connects communities for work and play via the rail network. Individual stations will contain a variety of uses to suit demand and location.

Key operational facilities such as ticket machines, waiting rooms, coffee counter and toilets will be complimented by other functions such as community meeting/gallery space, retail outlets and post office/drone parcel pickup points.

Sleeping pods for tourists and commuters can complement the daytime economy.

Hot desking space allows SME’s and individuals to connect with clients and colleagues located at other stations.

We took the approach of modular prefabricated units that could be manufactured to a high level off-site and then shipped onto site and quickly assembled.
