A new build apartment complex on a restrictive site located in the heart of Gosforth.

The proposal is for the erection of a three storey block consisting of four sustainable residential units comprising of 3 no. high quality 3 bed apartments, 1 no. 4 bed penthouse apartment (Class C3), all with associated parking and private outdoor spaces facing either south or west and 1 no. two storey open plan commercial office space (Class B1). In addition, this application proposes to refurbish the two-storey former old mews / coach house, now a workshop at 1 Back West Avenue into a 3-bed dwelling with rear garden extension at ground and first floor (Class C3) with associated parking and outdoor space.

The proposal is inspired by and references the light industrial historical context of the site, with high quality design and materials proposed throughout, as established with Newcastle City Council’s Conservation officers. The scheme’s ambition for this brownfield site is for a successful sustainable infill development creating attractive and coherent urban design with very high levels of amenity space.
