Born into a creative family in the North East of England, David was singled out for his creative skills from an early age.
After leaving Royal Grammar School Newcastle, he studied his Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture at De Montfort University. In 1997 David graduated from University College London’s prestigious Bartlett School of Architecture with a Technical Distinction and a Special Design Commendation, under the tuition of Professors Sir Peter Cook and Colin Fournier.
David’s passion for the world of art, film and music and the natural environment, inspires his work in architectural theory and practice.
In his twenty years of experience he has been involved in all architectural sectors on a diverse portfolio of projects from interior design commissions to large urban masterplans at the concept, procurement, and construction delivery stages.
David has worked globally for a variety of award winning practices, including the Richard Rogers Partnership in London.
In 2016 David set up Thompson & Associate Architects: THAA Architects
